Justin Bieber and Drake are the biggest winners at the just concluded 44th Annual American Music Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles bagging 4 awards each.
This year’s award, hosted by Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah, was entirely fan-voted, as Hadid noted, “There’s no electoral college tonight.”
Drake, who had 13 nominations won four awards.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber, who wasn’t present at the awards, performed his “Let me Love You” from his concert in Italy via Skype.
Sting, who performed an old school medley, was honored with the American Music Award of Merit presented by Robert Downey Jr.
The show also featured performances by Niall Horan, Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar, James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Bruno Mars and others.
Some of the other big winners included Drake, Selena Gomez, Zayn Malik, Fifth Harmony, and The Chainsmokers.
The biggest award of the night was the artist of the year, picked up by Ariana Grande.
