A dead man was reportedly found in a rice sack by residents of Oyingbo area of Lagos State.

The deceased, whose identity was unknown, was said to have been discovered by a security operative in the area. He was reported to be fully clothed with electric cables tied around his body in the bag thought to contain rubbish.

A resident of the area, Saheed Ijadun, told the police that the unidentified corpse was dumped in the area by suspected hoodlums.

“I believe the deceased did not live around the area. He was killed by hoodlums and dumped around the canal. The policeman was the one who raised the alarm”, he said.

It was learnt that officials of the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit came to the scene to remove the corpse after residents informed the policemen at Denton Division, Lagos.

Dolapo Badmos, the State Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the incident said “Operatives from the Denton division already have a clue they are working on. We are optimistic that we will arrest the suspects in no distant time.”
