The Ogun State Police Commnad has paraded a 63-year-old man, Korede Odubela, for killing and selling his stepdaughter’s body parts to a ritualist. Police said that Odubela had contracted one Lekan Lawal to assist him in the murder of the 16-year-old, Amudat Oshigbodi. He explained that he committed the crime on instruction from the girl’s mother who accused her of being a thief. He told Punch that she was meant to be used as a sacrifice to salvage the destiny of the other children.

He explained that the deceased usually slept by the outside door making it easy for them to carry out the operation. He said he sold her head to his son, a witch doctor, for rituals. The deal fetched him a part payment of N3,000.

However, Odubela’s wife, Fausat, denied asking her husband to kill her daughter.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the case was being investigated while the corpse had been deposited at the Ijebu Ode General Hospital morgue.
