A motorist has foiled an attempted abduction of eight students of Oyes Faithful College, in Ifo, Ogun State. The driver was said to have crossed the vehicle in which the abductors were escaping in.
It was gathered ten pupils had joined the bus marked AKD-948-XJ Lagos, after school hours. Two unidentified men reportedly sat at the front seat beside the driver, Akorede Ogunjobi, while the conductor, Kazeem Aderele, blocked the bus entrance.
According to an eye witness identified as Isaac, the driver moved to the fast lane at a high speed after two of the pupils alighted at a nearby bus stop.
“When they told the driver and the conductor where they would alight, the two men laughed at them. While on motion, two boys jumped out at different intervals, but the driver refused to stop. This was what aroused the curiosity of a motorist, who blocked him three bus stops from where he should have stopped”, he said.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the state police command, said the case was reported by the proprietress of the school after an angry mob attacked the suspects. He added that they have been transferred to the SCIID, Eleweran, Ogun State for further investigations.
