The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Wednesday, destroyed goods worth N252,882,020 million in Gombe state.
According to the agency’s Acting Director-General, Yetunde Oni, the destroyed items which included body creams, fruit juice, groundnut oil and drugs were surrendered willfully by its owners to the agency during the enforcement surveillance.
Oni who described the act as terrorism said selling unwholesome products was an evil to society as well as counterfeiters.
Obel Yagi, a representative of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG appealed to NAFDAC to continue in their efforts to checkmate the activities of local medicine hawkers, adding it would drive the objective of the agency to the society.
