Samir Nasri has said that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola placed an embargo on sex for his players. Nasri, who was sent out on loan, primarily, for being overweight, said Guardiola had warned the players to stay away from sex after midnight. The French midfielder said he had told them he used the same rule to get the best out of Lionel Messi at Barcelona. Nasri, now at Sevilla, said the tactician said the rule also applied to when the players had a free day the next day. He said the rule was to help them get enough sleep.
“For him, his players’ sexual activity must take place before midnight in order to get a good night’s sleep,” the playmaker told L’Equipe du Soir(h/t Eurosport).
“Even if they are free tomorrow. He said that he placed this rule on (Lionel) Messi and his muscles improved since.”
He also said Guardiola had a bunt nature and would say it exactly as it was without trying to sugar coat things. He revealed how he had kicked him around in training complaining of his weight.
Nasri’s move to Sevilla seems to be doing him a lotof good as he seems to have regained the form that saw Manchester City snap him up from Arsenal. He said Guardiola had wanted him at City but could not guarantee him of a first team place forcing him to make the move.
