Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru, has hinted of a plan by a consortium of investors to build 50,000 barrels capacity refinery in Nigeria.
”We are convincing them to come and build side by side with the Kaduna refinery”, said Baru, during his visit to Kaduna Petrochemical Company, KPRC.
Baru explained the said investors intend “to build around Kano”, and hopes they (investors) “will benefit from some of the utilities of Kaduna refinery.”
Equally, the NNPC GMD said Nigeria plans to build a 1,000km pipeline in Agadam, Niger Republic, for supply of crude oil to KPRC.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has made several contacts with the President of Niger Republic”.
” We are talking with Niger Ministry of Petroleum. We are also talking with the Chinese Company operating in Agadam,” he said.
