NFF To Decide U-17, U-20 Coaches’ Fates

The Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has said that it will meet to decide the fates of coaches of the Under-17 and Under-20 national teams. The coaches, Manu Garba and Emmanuel Amuneke, failed to qualify the teams for the 2017 African Youth Championships and the African U-17 Championship.

Technical Director of the NFF, Bitrus Bewarang told Sports Vanguard that the technical department will be making its position known to everybody after the meeting which he sad will take place before the end of the year. He said the committee would decide the fates of the coaches based on their performances and contributions to the teams.

“Yes the technical department and the technical committee will be meeting very soon hopefully before the end of the year. That meeting is where the fate of the national team coaches will be decided. Honestly, for now there is no decision taken on them.

“Let me equally add that by what I believe is reasonable, there will be no blanket decision on them. Each coach will be assessed based on his level of performance. Some of them may have lost out but that does not mean in my opinion that they are not good coaches.

“We have to look extensively into all what contributed in their crashing out,” Bewarang said.
