The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expelled former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel. The Party also expelled a member of the House of Representatives from Remo North, Ladi Adebutu; a factional leader of the party, Sikirulahi Ogundele and Tolu Bankole. Daniel and the others were expelled for alleged anti-party activities.
The State Chairman of the party, Bayo Dayo said Daniel was expelled despite his status as former governor of the state because he had left the party for the Peoples Party of Nigeria and Labour Party and only returned in 2015. Dayo said his back and forth movement from the party led to him being treated as a returnee.
