Protesters, led by Charles Oputa, popularly called Charly boy, stormed the National Assembly for the second day. The protesters are aggrieved over perceived corruption of the legislature, including high salaries collected by lawmakers. They are also agitating that state-local government joint account be stopped.
“Occupy NASS is a protest against corruption, political criminality, and a long period of bad leadership.
“However, just as the current government stands out to fight corruption, we also want to join hands to make Nigeria a corrupt-free nation,” a protester, Joy Amadi, said.
