President Muhammadu Buhari says he respects Adam Oshiomhole, governor of Edo State, for “sacrificing his personal comfort to constructing the (an hospital) edifice”. It was not clear what the president meant when he spoke at the inauguration of the remodeled 200-bed capacity ultra-modern central hospital in Benin on Monday.
Buhari also said the construction was ”the best way to do things and the best thing to do for the people” by any government. President Buhari said he was visiting the state for the third time to inaugurate projects done by the governor.
Governor Oshiomhole said the hospital, built in 1902, had seen piecemeal renovations previously. “We decided to demolish and rebuild the hospital,’’ the governor said.
President Buhari is on a two-day visit to the state.
