A rogue journalist, Lateef Taiwo Bamgbose has been exposed. Bamgbose, falsely claiming to be a correspondent of online news platform Saharareporter, is wont to blackmail unsuspecting politicians and senior civil servants, among others. Bamgbose’s antics was exposed by Saharareporter after it was inundated with complaints about the impostor. Among Bamgbose’s alleged victims were Nemadi Sambo, Nigeria’s former vice president and Ahmed Makarfi, chairman, national caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Acting under the pseudonym “Demola Ijaiye”, Bamgbose is believed to have swindled many others in society. He reportedly was trying to dupe a civil servant by claiming to be investigating a story he had received on him, when his tricks were exposed.
The rogue journalist says he was “investigating allegations against the director, which are contained in a document handed over to him by Inuwa Bwala, Special Assistant (Media) to PDP National Chairman, Ali Modu-Sheriff,” Sahareporter said its probe revealed.
Moreover, Bamgbose is said to have been in and out of Police and Department of State Security, DSS, detention for blackmail.
He is said to be a graduate of English from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and notorious for his dishonest behavior in Kaduna.
