A businessman has been accused of defiling an underage girl in his car.
Emmanuel Teye reportedly gave the girl a lift while she was returning from an errand for her parents on November 9, 2016, at about 8 p.m.
During the ride, Teye suddenly stopped the Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, they were riding in and assaulted his victim.
The girl reported the matter to her parents when she arrived home, prompting Teye’s police arrest and subsequently arraignment in court.
However, Teye denied the allegation, saying the girl acquiesced to it.
The prosecutor, Sgt Ashiagbor accused Teye of abandoning the girl after he had had sex with her.
The defendant (Teye) pleaded not guilty to two-count of defilement and having carnal knowledge with the underage girl.
Magistrate Charles Acheampong ordered Teye’s remand in prison till the case is mentioned again on January 16, 2017.
The incident happened in the Shai-Osudoku District, in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana.
