Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi has been offered $212,000 a week to play for Chinese club Shanghai SIPG. The midfielder has been out of the Chelsea squad with coach Antonio Conte leaving the 29-year-old completely out of the Chelsea set-up. Mikel had initially been linked with a Marseille move come January but faces a pay cut to join the French outfit.
Shanghai SIPG is rated third in terms of wealth and revenue in the Chinese league and the club is currently managed by former Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas. It also has Sven Goran Erikson former England coach in the management team.
Just across the city is Obafemi Martins who plies his trade with Shanghai Shenhua.
