A student of Agricultural Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka , Tobechukwu Okeke, has reportedly committed suicide over his unpaid debt.
The final year student allegedly hung himself in his residence and left a suicide note. His lifeless body was seen dangling from his apartment’s ceiling.
It was gathered that the deceased had invested some money into a failed gambling and had difficulties repaying his creditors.
The management of the institution said it had begun investigations into the death of Okeke. It stated that the content of the suicide note would be used to unravel the cause of the deceased’s action.
Meanwhile, Okeke’s friends have condemned his actions via social media. They described it as an ‘unwarranted solution’ to his problem.
