Trump’s Backtracks, Supports Gay Marriage

Donald Trump, United States President-elect says he supports same-sex marriage, repudiating his stance against it during his campaigns. Trump in his first 60-minute interview with CBS’ Lesley Stahl, cited a US Supreme Court judgment allowing homosexual liaisons.

‘It’s done. It – you have – these cases have gone to the Supreme Court. They’ve been settled. And I’m – I’m fine with that,’ said Trump.

Trump also was evasive on whether he would fulfil his threat to hire a special prosecutor to probe his opponent, Hillary Clinton’s e-mail saga – another threat he made during a presidential debate. A call that became popular among Trump’s supporters with the hail ‘lock her up’ renting his campaign grounds.

However, Trump said the Clintons were good people and he would not want to hurt them. He promised to give a definitive answer on it in his next interview.

Moreover, Trump said he would challenge an Abortion Law by appointing Supreme Court justices who share similar belief as he. The pro-life justices, Trump said, will give power to the ultimate invalidation of the country-wide law. The implication of such invalidation would mean women seeking abortion will only be able to do so in states where such is permissible.

‘But then some women won’t be able to get an abortion?’ Stahl asked.

‘Yeah, well, they’ll perhaps have to go, they’ll have to go to another state,’ Trump replied.

When Stahl pressed him further, asking whether this status quo was okay, he added: ‘Well, we’ll see what happens.

‘It’s got a long way to go, just so you understand. That has a long, long way to go.’
