British Prime Minister Theresa May and South African President Jacob Zuma have congratulated US President-elect Donald Trump.
May, in a statement, pledged to build on the two countries’ “special relationship” in the nearest future.
“Britain and the United States have an enduring and special relationship based on the values of freedom, democracy and enterprise. We are, and will remain, strong and close partners on trade, security and defence,” May said.
Similarly, South African President Jacob Zuma said the he was eager to work with Trump’s administration in promoting peace, security and prosperity especially in the African continent.
“I look forward to working with President-elect Trump to build on the strong relations that exists between the two countries.” He said.
