Super Eagles’ foes in their race for a ticket to the Russia 2018 World Cup, Algeria are currently battling injury crises in their camp. The North Africans are set to face Gernot Rohr’s men without four of their key players. Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam, Montpellier midfielder Ruad Boudebouz and Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Rachid Ghezzal, Dinamo Zagreb forwrd Hilal Soudani and Bordeaux’s Adam Ounas are all injured.
The team’s Dutch coach, Georges Leekens, has invited Arsenal’s U-18 midfielder Ismael Bennacer who was recently cleared to play for the Desert Foxes, Qatar-based Baghdad Bounedjah and Lille’s Yacine Benzia as replacements.
The team, however, still boasts of Leicester City duo, Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez, to play vital roles against Nigeria. Schalke 04’s NAbil Bentaleb who was on target for the Royal Blues on Sunday is also set to play.
The Super Eagles face Algeria in a World Cup qualifier match on 12 November at the Uyo International Stadium.
