Pope Francis, Wednesday, restated that women cannot be ordained catholic priests.
The priest said that the law banning women from the ordination was written by his predecessors, before he became a pope and will not be lifted. He also referred to an apostolic letter written by Pope John Paul II in 1994. It holds that ordaining women was not possible because Jesus chose only men as his apostles.
“It was given by St. John Paul II, and this stands. Forever, forever, never!.
“If we read carefully the declaration by St John Paul II, it is going in that direction”, he said.
