Abdulrahman Dambazau, minister of interior, has asked security agencies to fish out the killers of 36 miners in Zamfara State. Suspected bandits were said to have carried out the Monday killing. Osaigbovo Ehisienmen, Dambazzau’s press secretary, said “The Minister of Interior has condemned in strong terms, the senseless killing of innocent Nigerians at a mining site in Zamfara State. While condoling with the Government and people of Zamfara over the most reprehensible attack, Dambazau has mandated the Police and NSCDC to apprehend perpetrators of this dastardly act, with a view to bringing them to justice”. The statement adds that the Ministry of Mines and Solid Minerals will collaborate with security agencies to build a special squad, including NSCDC personnel, to protect organized mining sites across the country.
