Abia Poly Produces Waste Conversion Equipment

Abia State Polytechnic, in Nigeria’s Southeast, says it has begun the  production of waste conversion and disposable equipment. The initiative, driven by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, aims at to encouraging local production of goods in the state’s commercial hub, Aba.

The management of Abia Poly was quoted as saying, “It is in our interest, as a state and people, to stop distracting the government in Abia, and instead support the efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in making Abia truly the number one state; the SME capital of Nigeria as well as the commercial nerve centre/production hub of Nigeria. These equipment pictured here, were fabricated by the engineering department of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.”

Abia State Polytechnic at Aba is a technological institution. The Engineering Department of the Polytechnic will be partnering with the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) in the provision of waste disposal bins (popularly known in Aba as ASEPA bucket) that will be used for waste management.
