Lagos state plans to collaborate with the Euro News’ channel, Pan African Channel, in a bid to sell its tourism potentials to international audiences, government said in a statement.
Steve Ayorinde, state commissioner of information, reportedly told the Senior Account Director of Euronews, Marianne Michelette during the latter’s courtesy visit to him.
“Ayorinde restated the commitment of the State Government to continue to welcome relationship that will be of mutual benefit.
“He enumerated the enormous potentials of the State that would be of interest to the international audience, especially the gale of projects and programmes across all sectors embarked upon by the current administration in its bid to ensure socio-economic development of the State.
“Among the programmes listed by Ayorinde that could kick start the partnership, are those lined for the rest of the year, such as the Lagos Street Party holding in Victoria Island on December 3rd and 4th, the eight-day “One Lagos Fiesta” that will hold simultaneously in the five divisions of the State from December 24 and end with the “Cross-over” fireworks on December 31 as well as the “Lagos at 50” scheduled for 2017,” the statement added.
Euronews’ Senior Account Director, accompanied by Mr. Felix Eguagbor, Director Africa, Vision Plus Media, reportedly said they were meeting the government to equally sell the new channel, which is a platform to propagate narratives of African countries from African perspective.
