Referee Books Cavani For Dedicating Goal To Chapecoense

Paris Saint  Germain’s Edinson Cavani was yellow-carded after he decicated his goal to Chapecoense, which lost 71 player and officials in a crash on Monday. The Uruguayan took off his jersey to reveal a tribute shirt to the Brazilian team after striking his 100th goal for the French giants. He was booked by the referee as stipulated by the rules of the game.

Cavani insisted after the game he understood the referee had to abide by the rules but the decision left fans venting their fury on Twitter.

Chapecoense lost its squad when their plane from Brazil to Colombia crashed on Monday night. The team had been traveling to play in the Copa Sudamericana final before sisaster struck.
