Bayo Alarapon, chairman of the Ondo state chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, has said they would publicize their stand on the stoppage of salaries to holdovers of the immediate past administration in the state. The affected former appointees comprise Local Government secretaries, personal assistants, special advisers, chiefs of staff, among others.
“We have not really gone into the matter. Whatever we decide later, we will let the world know,” he said.
Shortly after he assumed office as governor, Rotimi Akeredolu removed appointees into the 18 local government areas of the state from government payroll and froze accounts of the local councils.
