Arsenal’s Petr Cech has been named Czech Player of the Year for the ninth time. He beat off Hertha Berlin’s Vladimir Darida and Chinese Super League based, Borek Dockal to win the award for a record nine times.
The vote is decided by players, coaches, football officials and journalists.
The 34-year-old was injured in the Gunners’ recent slump at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and has suggested it could takes weeks before he recovers.
The Gunners will have to rely on David Ospina who was in goal when the side were thrashed 10-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
