Hamisu Lawan, NDLEA Commander at the airport, stated that the duo tested positive for narcotic ingestion during routine screening. He said Ike, an automobile dealer from Onitsha, Anambra State, was caught with 110 wraps of heroin. The latter was said to have arrived from Tanzania on an Ethiopian Airline. Also, Otaka, who was on a flight to Cambodia, was found to have inserted seven wraps of cocaine weighing 386 grammes into his anus.
On his part, Ike, a father of three said he was promised N600,000 to smuggle the drugs. He blamed his action on financial hardship.
