Top Nigerian and Ghanaian celebrities are gearing up for the maiden edition of the Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards.
Organisers of the award revealed that the award aims at building a strong relationship between Nigeria and Ghana entertainment industries.
Nominees from the entertainment industries in both countries will slug it out in different categories to be announced at a classy House Party in Accra on Saturday, March 18, 2017. The gig, which also marks the official launch of the awards holds at Paparazzi Lounge, East Legon Accra and will kick off with a Gold Carpet session for celebrities at 8pm.
According to Tope Aileru, CEO of Blue Synergy Media, organisers of Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards, the project is to further cement the existing relationship between the entertainment practitioners in the 2 countries, and such bolstering the move to make this part of West Africa the entertainment hub of Africa.
The award is to identify, recognise and honour practitioners and players in the entertainment sectors in the two countries who have done exceptionally well, with a view to encouraging them to do more to make the industry bigger.
The event is tagged “Celebrating Africa’s Biggest Entertainment Collaboration”.
The grand finale, which will see stars from Ghana joining their colleagues in Nigeria coming together on one night, holds in Lagos on May 14, 2017.
