IGP Wants Whistleblowing Policy Extended To Police

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has prescribed the whistleblowing policy to be included in the Nigerian Police Force.

Idris, who made the call in Abuja yesterday, said whistleblowers should report any misconduct by any policeman to the appropriate headquarters.

“Nigerians should blow the whistle on police corruption through the various platforms that we have set up on WhatsApp, Instagram, Email and GSM telephone numbers.

The Police boss who was represented by the Deputy Inspector General in charge of Operations, Joshak Habila, at a ceremony said any officer found culpable would be dealt with.

He added that the various platforms are available for Nigerians to access and disclosed that a national conference would soon be convened to discuss the persistent herdsmen and farmers’ clash in the country
