At least eight persons are believed to have been killed and about 30 others injured after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive at a crowded area in Dalori, a suburb of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. The incident happened on Sunday, at about 10 p.m.
PREMIUM TIMES said an unknown soldier allegedly suggested the causality figure might be higher. The report also said some soldiers might have been ambushed by the Boko haram terrorists along Damboa-Maiduguri road. Three of the soldiers reportedly died in the attack.
There has not been any official statement from the Nigerian military.
