Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike, aka Evans, the notorious kidnapper recently arrested, has led a team of policemen from the Federal Anti-kidnapping Unit to his detention camps. Evans and his gang had used the buildings as holding centres for his kidnapped victims. He was said to have kept many of his victims there for months while negotiating ransom for their release.
Evans reportedly told journalists his arrest meant the beginning of the end of kidnapping in Nigeria, claiming his gang was unrivaled in the criminal enterprise.
Evans was arrested on June 11, along with six suspected top members of his gang.
