Olamide Odimayo, a member of the All Progressives Congress, who was kidnapped by gunmen last Thursday, has been found dead. His remains was recovered from the Ogolo River between Sabomi nad Igbotu towns in Ese Odo Local Government area of Ondo State.
A source told The Punch that the politician could have been killed to avenge the death of one of the kidnappers by the youths of the town. He said the youths, hearing about the kidnap, had chased down the men and killed one of them.
Femi Joseph, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the incident and said eight persons had been arrested in connection with the crime.
