The Nigerian Army has said it discovered a new operational base used by Boko Haram insurgents on a remote Island in Lake Chad.
Stevenson Olabanji, acting General Officer, commanding GOC 8 Task Force Division, disclosed this during a visit to Borno State on Sunday.
Timothy Atingha, Army Public Relations Officer, in a statement said that the end of Boko Haram in Nigeria was evident as the troops were ready to heighten their clearance operations.
“The tempo of ongoing clearance operations will be increased, so be prepared. You may be ordered at any time to clear the remnants of Boko Haram elements in the identified locations.”
Also, Olabanji, asked the soldiers to always make sure their weapons are serviceable as the strike order on the secret Boko Haram location could be given at any time.
