A cheating housewife has told an Idi-Ogungun Customary Court at Agodi, Ibadan, to dissolve her marriage to her husband of 23 years. She explained that her husband was too lazy and made her cheat on him with another man who had been catering for her family.
She told the court that her mother already knew the man she was cheating with. She told the court that her husband was living with her in the house she built and was not ready to get a job to assist her in providing for the family.
Her husband, who was also present in court, pleaded that the marriage should not be dissolved saying he still loved his wife. He said the economic situation of the country was affecting his business. He promised to get a job and fulfill his responsibilities as husband.
The first child of the couple, Lara, also pleaded with the court not to dissolve the marriage. She appealed to her mother to forgive her father for her sake and that of her three siblings.
The President of the court, Mukaila Balogun, urged the couple to resolve the matter amicably. He appealed to the petitioner to put the welfare of the four children into consideration. Balogun adjourned the case to August 2, 2017 for report of settlement or continuation of hearing.
