Manchester City have completed the signing of Real Madrid's Danilo for £26.5 million. The defender has signed a five-year contract with the Citizens making him their fifth signing of the summer. The 26-year-old is expected to join the squad in the United States.
Pep Guardiola is understood to fancy Danilo due to his versatility in defence and midfield. The player has expressed joy at joining the Premier League club saying he had always wanted to play under Pep Guardiola.
"I am very, very happy to be joining Manchester City," Danilo told City's official website.
"There has been strong interest from other clubs, but it has always been my ambition to play for Pep Guardiola. As soon as I heard of his interest, I knew immediately I wanted to be a City player.
"I can't wait to get started and I'm looking forward to getting to know my new team-mates over the coming weeks."
Danilo endured a torrid time at Madrid with the fans often booing him.
