Nasiru Tajudeen, a 57-year-old land surveyor has been arraigned before an Ebute Metta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly presenting a false evidence at a Federal High Court.
Prosecuting officer, Oyinshakin Wasat told the court that the defendant used the forged number, IMS/LS/627/10 of a plot of land titled Kolawole Saheed Abdul Azeez and super imposed it on another survey plan at Igbokuta Village.
He alleged that Tajudeen used the forged number to get judgement at the Ikorodu High Court.
Wasat noted that the accused committed perjury by giving false evidence in court on November 9, 2009 after he presented a fake survey number to get judgement over 303101 hectares of land.
His offences, according to the prosecutor was contrary to Sections 365 and 86 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge preferred against him.
Presiding magistrate, T. A Elias however, granted him bail of the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.
He said one of the sureties must be a recognized ruler, and must show proof of tax payment, LASRA receipt to the Lagos state government.
He adjourned the case till September 11 for mention.
