Gbenga Kool, state chairman of Accord party has on Friday said that the party will not participate in the Lagos constituency bye election which will hold in Eti-Osa Local Government area on September 30.
Kool told NAN in Lagos that the party will not be partaking in the polls because it had no structure in the area.
He also said that it would be a waste of time and resources for the party to field a candidate in an election in which it had no chances of winning.
Kool added that the party was currently busy challenging some of the results of the July 22 local council polls.
“We are not fielding any candidate in the Eti-Osa bye election and that was why we didn’t have a primary.
“The reason is simple and clear. We have no structures in Eti-Osa and we believe going there now for bye-election will amount to a waste of time and resources.
“We don’t want to be there just in name. The party is a credible party which operates according to some principles.
“What we are concentrating on now is challenging the some of the results of the last local government elections in the state at the tribunal,” he said.
