Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembele, will be sidelined for up to four months after picking up a hamstring tear in Barcelona’s dramatic 2-1 win over Getafe on Saturday in the La Liga.
The 20-year-old French International sustained the injury in the first half of the game while attempting a back heel when the game was still goaless.
The club released a statement on Sunday after a test was conducted: “The tests have come back following first team player Ousmane Dembele’s injury. He has ruptured the tendon in his femoral bicep in his left thigh.
“The player is expected to be out for between three and a half months and four months,” it reads.
The €105million summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund will miss the club’s La Liga fixtures against Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, and Valencia. Dembele is also set to miss the rest of the Champions League group stages, and first El-Clasico of the season against Real Madrid in December.
