A 30-year-old-man, Shago Aliu was on Friday arraigned before an Ogba Magistrate court for allegedly stealing a Nokia phone.
According to Prosecutor Clement Okomusi, the suspect committed the crime on September 13 at Aguda, Ogba area of Lagos.
He said the phone, valued at N6,000 belonged to one Musina Ibrahim.
He said, “You were sent by the complainant to get him a file in his office. On doing that, you stole a phone in his drawer and sold it the next day.”
Okumusi said his offence contravened section 280 and is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, who showed remorse for his action, pleaded guilty and begged for mercy.
“Please, I beg, it was the devil that pushed me.” he told the court.
However, the Magistrate Y.O Ekopbulu, adjourned the case till September 20, for fat and sentence.
