Real Madrid’s Mareclo has extended his contract at the Spanish giants till 2022, the club has announced. The 29-year-old Brazilian has enjoyed huge success with the team he joined in 2006, winning three Champions League and four La Liga titles.
“Real Madrid and Marcelo have agreed to extend the contract of the player, who will remain tied to the club until June 30, 2022,” the club said.
The former Fluminense defender will miss his side’s La Liga games against Real Sociedad and Real Betis after he was banned for a kick at Levante’s Jefferson Lerma in their 1-1 draw on Saturday. He will be available when his side play APOEL Nicosia from Cyprus on Wednesday night.
