Mourinho Tells Manchester United Fans To Respect Rooney

Jose Mourinho, the manager of Manchester United, has urged fans to show Wayne Rooney some respect when Everton visit Old Trafford on Saturday. He urged the fans to show appreciation to the former England forward for what he has done for the club.
“I think that he will get the welcome he deserves. The fans should give him that. I think sometimes the word ‘legend’ in this country comes too easily. That’s not the situation in his case – he’s a real legend, with the number of goals he scored and trophies he won.
“He’s clearly one of the most important players in Manchester United’s history and I think the stadium will show him that respect he deserves. I hope that happens before the match and after the match, not during the match alone,” he said at a press conference.
Rooney is expected to play for Everton against his former club, where he played for 13 years, when both sides clash.
