Taxi drivers and policemen have clashed in the Iwo road area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Friday. The clash was said to have started after some men of the State Anti-Robbery Squad beat a driver for hitting their vehicle and trying to escape.
The Punch reports that the taxi drivers had mobilised leading to a free-for-all. It was not clear how many people were injured in the clash. Several vehicles travelling towards the route of the clash were seen taking alternative routes, resulting in gridlock in some parts of the city for several hours.
