Salish Yusuf, coach of Nigeria’s home base Super Eagles has said he is confident the team will qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFU championship in Ghana, despite their second successive goaless draw against Guinea on Saturday.
“It was another disappointing result for us. We wanted to win the game but the Guineans are very good too. Ghana are the favourite in the group now. They have six points, but we will see how we can pick the three point against them on Monday to qualify for the Semis,” Yusuf said in an interview after the game against Guinea.
Nigeria now have two points from two matches in Group A, after draws against Mali and Guinea. The team must win their final group game against host, Ghana, on Monday, to guarantee progress to the Semis.
