President Muhammadu Buhari has called for stronger global ties in terrorism fight. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said Buhari made the statement while receiving a Letter of Credence from the Egyptian ambassador to Nigeria, Aseem Muhammed, on Thursday.
He said the president urged world leaders to strengthen relationships and be more forthright in intelligence sharing to curb the growing sophistication in global terrorism.
“Clearly the threat of global terrorism is getting more sophisticated by the day so we need leaders to work together to stop the attacks,’’ Adesina quoted the president as saying.
The president was also said to have hailed the historical bilateral relations between Nigeria and Egypt in education, training and trade.
He urged the new ambassador to work towards expanding and deepening the scope of the relationship.
President Buhari was also received said to have rec eived Letters of Credence from Her Excellency, Mrs. Marcelline Paulette Adjovi Yekpe, Ambassador of Benin Republic to Nigeria and His Excellency, Mr Alejandro Garcia Moreno-Elizando, Ambassador of Mexico to Nigeria.
