A federal judge has asked the Nigeria Police to produce one Okwuchukwu Obiechina, who is said to be a brother-in-law to notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans. Justice Mohammed Idris, of the Federal High Court, gave the order in a fundamental right suit filed by Obiechina’s lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje.
Ogunbeje told the court the police had detained Obiechina, since June 2, over Evans’ crimes.
He urged the judge to order Obiechina’s release, but the prayer was declined. Rather, Justice
Idris directed Ogunbeje to put the police on notice, and that Obiechina be made to appear before him on October 12.
