Police in Imo state have arrested one Zebulus Chiekezie, a 64-year-old, from Umukegwu-Akokwa in the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state for selling guns and bullets to armed robbers. He was caught with four single-barrelled guns and 61 live cartridges.
Chiekezie said that he bought two of the guns in Calabar, the Cross River state capital while one belonged to his father and he used the other for hunting.
A police source told Southern City News that Banjoko Idahosa, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, led the Special Anti-Robbery Squad to arrest the suspect. It said that the suspect would be charged to court soon.
