Rally For Meek Mill Holds Monday

Top American singers and actors will on Monday converge at the Criminal Justice Center Philadelphia, for a rally in support of rapper Meek Mill. Mill was sentenced to 2-4 years in jail for violating terms of his probation on several occasions. Celebrities like rapper Wale and comedian Kevin Hart have agreed to joined the rally in a post on Instagram. Mill has received a lot of support online, including from actor and Philadelphia native Kevin Hart, DJ Khalid, Wale, etc. Hart, who is kicking of the rally said in a post on Instagram, “let’s go Philadelphia. #FreeMeekMill.” Also, Wale, in a post on Instgram said, “If we were only judged for our pasts, we’d never enjoy the present, or have reason to be optimistic for our tomorrow’s #FreeMeekMill.” Jay Z, CEO of Roc Nation who manages Mill, has been a vocal supporter of criminal justice reform. “The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer — is unjust and heavy handed,” Jay-Z wrote Monday on Facebook. “We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career.” The rally is expected to kick off by 5pm.
