Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos State governor, has appointed reigning African female footballer of the year, Asisat Oshoala, as sports ambassador for Lagos State.
The governor received the 2017 CAF Women’s African Football Player of the Year at the State House, Alausa, on Thursday, where he declared the appointment.
Confirming the appointment in a tweet, Ambode wrote:
”3rd time African Female Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, was our guest at Lagos House, Ikeja. Asisat is a sport ambassador of Lagos and we are proud of her achievements”.
The Super Falcons striker won her third African Women’s Footballer crown in Ghana on January 4.
