An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, in Osun, on Friday, remanded two men, namely Tope Akanbi, 20, and Adeyemi Lawal, 27, in prison over alleged breaking and entering.
The accused are facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, housebreaking, forceful entry and stealing to which they pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode refused the bail application of the accused persons, but asked their lawyer, Innocental Akhigbe, to file a written application for their bails.
Ijiyode ordered that the duo be remanded in prison pending the consideration of the application.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Christian Olajide told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 31, 2017 at House 2, Federal Housing Estate, Olowoporoku, Ondo Road, Ile-Ife.
Olajide said the accused conspired and broke into the house of the complainant, Adewinle Olugbenga to steal.
The offences contravened Sections 4, 411 (1), (2), 412, 509 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.The case was adjourned until Jan. 18 for hearing.
