Man Bags 21 Years Jail For Sexually Assaulting Landlady’s Son


Oladimeji Michael, a resident of Kadiri Street, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos has been sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by a Lagos High Court for sexually assaulting his landlady’s  three-year-old son.

On September 5, 2013, Michael was said to have taken the boy into a bathroom where he have inserted his penis in the boy's mouth. He was caught by a neighbour, Identified as Ifeanyi, who raised the alarm.

The boy's mother, Iyabo, had rushed to scene and saw Michael standing on a stone with his penis in her son's mouth. She was said to have held him, still pants down, and alerted neighbours. The matter was reported to the police and the suspect arrested.

In proving its case against the defendant, the prosecution called three witnesses, namely the neighbour who saw them,  Ifeanyi; the boy’s mother, Iyabo; and the Investigating Police Officer, W/Cpl. Okunola Modupe.

The police prosecutor said the suspect had claimed he was drunk when the incident happened. He said on the day of the incident he had returned home from work around 9pm when he had a fever. He claimed that he had gone to urinate when the boy drew near to him. He said the boy’s mother, who was his landlady, saw them together and raised the alarm.

 The Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya-led court said the prosecution proved its case “beyond all reasonable doubt” and sentenced the convict accordingly.
