Thierry Henry, a former footballer, has said that Barcelona's Lionel Messi will always overshadow Neymar and indeed every footballer on the planet. Neymar had left the Catalans to escape being under Messi's shadow in a world record £198 million transfer to Paris Saint Germain. But Henry believes the only way out for Neymar is to change sport entirely.
''I don't know if Neymar left Barcelona to get out of Messi's shadow,'' Henry told Spanish outlet Marca.
''What is true is that all players are in Messi's shadow, and if Neymar doesn't want to be, he should change sport.''
Although Neymar has made an excellent start to life in France with 28 goals in 29 appearances, his side faces elimination from the Champions League, the one competition the Parisians are yet to make an impact, after losing to Real Madrid in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
Also, Ligue 1 is seen as a far less competitive league and might make it difficult for the Brazilian forward to have a chance of winning the Balon d'Or.
